How do I locate a pest?
This is pest-dependent. Woodworm and Co. can be localized very well with the help of a stethoscope. Termites can be found with the help of a thermal imaging camera
Can the treatment with microwaves cause a fire?
No, we work with temperatures up to a maximum of 90°C. The wood structure changes from a temperature of 120° C. A smoldering fire occurs only from a temperature greater than 100°C. Measurements in the core of the wood are therefore mandatory
Will I receive an invoice with VAT?
Yes, our company, based in Germany, is subject to German tax law. We are obliged to issue a correct invoice with VAT. Entrepreneurs in the EU with a valid VAT ID number receive our products at the net price
Which pests can I eliminate?
Microwave devices can be used against all wood-destroying pests such as the common woodworm, house longhorn beetle, checked beetle, termites. The only thing to consider is the lethal temperature and the treatment should be based on it
What happens to my solar system?
Contact the manufacturer of the system and follow their recommendation
Do I need to remove electrical/electronic devices from the room?
No, we recommend disconnecting these devices from the power grid and covering them with a metallic foil (e.g. aluminum foil) if necessary. Mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, etc. should be removed from the expansion area
Do I need to treat the entire house in case of pest infestation?
No, a partial treatment is completely sufficient
Does the microwave device "radiate"?
No, as soon as the device is turned off, no "radiation" occurs. It's like a light switch. Switch off = light off
Can I operate the device at a "normal" power outlet?
Yes, the device has a power consumption of approximately 1.5 kWh and can therefore be operated at a standard household power outlet
Is it difficult to perform a treatment?
No, if you have localized the pests, you put the device in position, measure the start temperature, and begin the treatment. After a short time, you measure the temperature again. This is done until the lethal temperature is exceeded by about 10°C. The treated wood cools down slowly. The treatment is completed
What do I do in case of repair?
In case of repair, you can contact us. If a repair in our workshop is necessary, you can simply send us your device. Since our company is based in Europe/Germany, you do not need any additional accompanying documents for the return shipment
What happens to screws, nails, etc.?
Metallic objects, such as screws, nails, cables, etc. reflect the microwave. Exception: Wire staples with a length of about 20 mm and a diameter of less than 1 mm. These wire staples can absorb the microwave and convert it into heat, i.e. they become hot
Is a single application sufficient?
Yes, but a repeated infestation by the already hatched brood is possible. A further treatment in the following year may be necessary
Is there a health risk for the user?
No, if you follow the safety instructions in our operating instructions, there is no health risk. Our measuring devices provide additional safety
What happens to my fiber optic connection?
Objects such as glass, fiber optics, porcelain, etc. are penetrated by the microwave without significant resistance
Can I treat wood that is clad and surrounded by insulation material?
Insulation materials such as mineral wool, cellulose, styrofoam, or similar are penetrated by the microwave without significant resistance. The same applies to cladding materials such as gypsum board, styrodur, tiles, wallpaper, or similar
Can you guarantee a successful treatment?
Yes, if you follow the guidelines according to DIN 68800. This is described in detail in our operating instructions
How quickly can I treat a beam?
The treatment time depends on various parameters such as the type of wood, wood moisture, thickness. A general statement cannot be made
Can I treat a floorboard with the device?
Yes, our device can be operated in all positions
Can the device be used prophylactically?
No, prophylactic measures with microwaves are meaningless
What beam thicknesses can I treat with your microwave device?
With our device, you can treat beams up to 40 cm thick if you use the device alternately from both sides.
We recommend using two devices facing each other from a beam thickness of 20 cm for hardwood and 23 - 25 cm for softwood.
